We know many people’s plans have probably been thrown this weekend with park closures and weather events – so we wanted to make sure you knew what was open and where to go.
We’ve got you covered!
PARKS THAT ARE OPEN:
In Litchfield, you can currently swim at Buley and Upper Cascades if you’re up for a small hike – do take care as the water is still moving faster than normal. While you’re there, the view at Tolmer is great to see!
Charles Darwin National Park & Mountain Bike Trails are open, and Fogg Dam is open and great for birdwatching and the occasional crocodile spotting adventure!
Importantly – Kakadu and Nitmiluk are OPEN! There’s been some confusion about the roads and the water, but there are various sites at both that are back open and ready for you to visit – and they’d love your support!
There are Easter activities in Kakadu too – the Top End Critters Reptile Show will have four free sessions over the Easter weekend, a free colouring-in competition, a free Easter Sunday egg hunt, and disco and movie nights for the kids! While you wait for the water to recede – the rock art sites at Burrungkuy Nourlangie, various walks and lookouts, both cultural centres, and the Yellow Water Billabong are all open!

The Waterfront will be open all weekend with a range of activities and places to eat / swim / relax – the Aqua park is open all weekend too! And for a bit of fun, Meow Waffee have a hot cross bun-themed latte, and Oyster Bar has a hot cross bun-themed oyster, so take your pick!
