Three of Darwin’s hidden local restaurant hot spots

Although we cannot get enough of our local beachside and CBD favourites that everyone knows about – we wanted to list some of Darwin’s hidden local restaurants that are guaranteed to impress the down south relatives – check out these hot spots!

Klimataria Greek Restaurant

Location:  5 Presley St, Stuart Park

If you absolutely cannot wait for the Greek Glenti and have a hankering for some delicious Greek cuisine, Klimataria is our hidden Greek go-to. Located on a twinkly rooftop in Stuart Park, these guys are serving up some of the best authentic Greek seafood and charcoal grill eats – it feels like you’ve walked into a big family feast!

Local’s tip – Klimataria is BYO, and no stress if you’ve forgotten – there’s a bottle shop in walking distance.

Frying Nemo

Location: 10/90 Frances Bay Dr, Stuart Park

Located on the marina in Tipperary Waters, Frying Nemo is an award-winning and fully licensed fish and chippery hot spot you need to pop into. With great waterside views, cold beers and local Northern Territory caught fish and seafood, this place is a local favourite – their burgers are also not to be missed!

Local’s tip – Frying Nemo is only a minute’s walk from the Dinah Beach boat ramp and a couple of minutes drive from the waterfront, pick up a to-go order on your next sunset cruise or stop in after a big day on the water.

Tim’s Surf and Turf

Location: 10 Litchfield St, Darwin City

Tim’s Surf and Turf, dare we say, delivers it all!

Hidden in the back streets of the city behind the Cavenagh Hotel, Tim’s delivers on all fronts. Whether you’re in the mood for steak, seafood, or a classic croc schnitzel, our mate Tim has you sorted. Their relaxed outdoor seating is also the perfect spot for midweek drinks or a relaxed catch-up with your mates.

Local’s tip – Tim is famous for his magic tricks here in Darwin and usually won’t hesitate to show off a trick or two.
