For when you want to camp, but also want the glam life – you can thank the new accommodation rage that is “glamping”. Glamping has taken off around the globe over the last few years, and for good reason. You get the best of both worlds – enjoy the fresh air and outdoors and watch the stars from the comfort of a proper bed, and even better you don’t have to pack it down! We’ve sourced a list of the best glamping in the Top End, ranging from budget to top of the range.

Katherine Holiday Park –

Located near Lower Level Nature Park and Katherine Hot Springs

There’s plenty of green grass, white gums and kangaroos at Katherine Holiday Park. The safari tents are perfect for a budget conscious glamper. These powered tents feature your own private outdoor sitting area with table and chairs, and accommodate two people with a queen bed, fridge and fan. The communal bathrooms are a short walk away.

Mary River Wilderness Retreat –

Mary River Crossing, Arnhem Highway, Annaburroo

Explore the Mary River region in style by making a safari tent your base at Mary River Wilderness Retreat. These are also very reasonably priced and accommodate two with a queen bed, private balcony with outdoor setting, fridge, tea and coffee facilities. The shared amenities are just a short walk away.

Cooinda Lodge –

Kakadu Hwy, Kakadu

You can now glamp in the middle of Kakadu in Cooinda Lodge‘s new Outback Retreats. These permanent tent structures also feature a glass front wall, high quality furniture, artwork and a private decking – this is high end glamping. Plus you get to enjoy Cooinda’s other facilities such as the restaurant, bar and pools.

Top End Safari Camp –

Bay Fog Road, Bynoe

Matt Wright’s Top End Safari Camp is an adventure enthusiasts dream. The glamping accommodation is in a deluxe lotus belle tent with private decking and your own private open air shower. There are all sorts of package tours to choose from including airboat cruises, scenic helicopter flights, BBQ lunch and what Matt Wright is known for, crocodile encounters!

Wildman Wilderness Lodge –

Mary River Wetlands

The Wildman safari tents are sit on the luxury end of the scale, featuring private ensuites and cater up to four or five guests. There are plenty of tours and activities to choose from including a culture walk, billabong cruises, fishing tours, bush tucker experiences and more.

Cobourg Coastal Camp –

20 Black Point Rd, Garig Gunak Barlu National Park, Cobourg Peninsula

Cobourg Coastal Camp is located in Garig Gunak Barlu National Park at the most northern tip of Arnhem Land. Enjoy these remotely located safari tents spotted along the cliff top overlooking the ocean. All tents include two single beds with linen provided. Shared amenities are spotted throughout the site. You can only stay here by taking a Venture North Tour or a fishing charter with Cobourg Fishing Safaris.

Bamurru Plains Lodge –

Mary River Floodplains, Kakadu
