The start of this month kicked off with the Botanic Gardens transforming for Summer Salt Festival, and it was an absolute wow of a time!! So we’ve rounded up some of the upcoming Top End festivals in April and May for you to get excited about…
ONE TROPICAL DAY – April 24
After their last concert got Covid Cancelled – Jon Stevens and Daryl Braithwaite are delivering on their promise to Darwin fans to perform as soon as they could! They’ll be joined seaside at the Darwin Ski Club on Saturday 24th April by Australian Music Industry Hall of Fame inductees and rock outlaws Rose Tattoo, and sensational soul, blues and rock collective Mahalia Barnes and The Soul Mates.
PURE 2021 – DARWIN EDITION – May 1
Australia’s techno scene is rising from its COVID-induced slumber with a HUGE techno-fuelled line-up, coming to Darwin on May Day weekend!
PURE, presented and curated by Carl Cox, Eric Powell of Bush Records, and Richie McNeill of Hardware, will see Carl Cox joined by Eric Powell, Christopher Coe, and a fine selection of Darwin’s local techno champions; Pete Stone, Chad Martin and GOVA!
An 18+ event in the Darwin Botanic Gardens Amphitheatre – this is one not to be missed!
The internationally renowned disco & house music veterans are here to give Darwin the best of the Funk, Soul, Disco & House music classics – in the ‘must-attend ‘Carl & Eric’s Mobile Disco’ !
This will be their first-ever show together in Darwin – and Carl hasn’t been here since his packed gig at Discovery in 2006!

NIGHTCLIFF SEABREEZE FESTIVAL – May 7 & 8
How good are free festivals!
A community arts festival presented along one of our favourite foreshore paths – Nightcliff! After having to go digital in 2020, they’re back for 2021 with a program celebrating diversity, inclusiveness, and vibrancy of our Tropical Top End.

BASS IN THE GRASS – May 15
If soaking up the sun with live music by the beach is your thing – BASS is the festival for you! Some of Australia’s biggest and best acts will be taking over Mindil Beach on May 15 for a full festival – and this makes us SO HAPPY TO BE IN DARWIN!

GARRMALANG FESTIVAL – May 29 & 30
A celebration of the artistic richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture – Garrmalang is Darwin’s only major multi-arts event led by a First Nations creative team, at the Darwin Entertainment Centre.
There are both free and ticketed events, panel talks, photographic exhibitions, a Festival Club, and some deadly comedy – and on Saturday night don’t miss multi-award-winning Electric Fields with their powerful live show of soulful pop and electronic music, often featuring Fielding’s traditional language of the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara people.
