It’s quite well known by now that Darwin is the laksa capital of Australia… and the long-running competition for the best spicy soup used to be a heated discussion among locals at the Parap Markets on a Saturday morning – but now, thanks to the Darwin International Laksa Festival, we have the answers for you!

If you haven’t heard of the Darwin International Laksa Festival – put it on the list for next year. It’s our wet season special – a whole month of trying, tasting and rating the best Laksa and Laksa Inspired dishes across Darwin and now even in rural areas – all culminated in a full blown festival at the end of the month!
For 2021 – popular waterfront eatery CHOW won the prestigious Golden Bowl trophy from 41 entrants, with 10 fantastic dishes on the Darwin laksa shortlist.
