Darwin Accommodation: Palms City Resort is a tropical getaway in the CBD

Looking for an affordable tropical getaway in the Darwin CBD? Look no further than Palms City Resort.

Palms City Resort
Our own tropical spa for the night

When we arrived to check into our room – we knew this wasn’t your usual inner-city hotel, and honestly that’s the best thing about it!

You’ll find Palms City Resort on the Esplanade of the Darwin CBD.

If you’re in a Bungalow or a Villa you get free parking – but it’s conveniently located one street back from the hustle and bustle of Mitchell Street, AND only a short walk to the Smith St Mall and the Waterfront… or if you’re like us – an easy scooter ride!

We stayed in the Palms Villa – a unique Bali meets Territory style bungalow, with a private outdoor spa! The resort is fringed by – you guessed it – palms!

The tropical gardens remove you from the CBD and make you feel like you’re in an oasis – but step just outside the white picket fence and you’re close to everything again!

Each bungalow is complete with the most epically tropical louvre windows (we love!), and of course a small kitchenette and bathroom – but our favourite part was that everyone has a decking area and your own little Webber BBQ – it is quintessential ‘NT holiday mode’.

We not only had our own spa, but we took advantage of the pool area – and it is very Northern Territory prepared – it’s got a giant shade, so you can enjoy it year-round and stay protected from the sun.

Come dinner time – we couldn’t decide if we felt like a pub meal or a famous Darwin Laksa, luckily we were close to options for both! They even have a deal with one of the great pubs of the CBD – Hotel Darwin – to chargeback to your room account. It couldn’t be any easier!

We woke up to the morning light through lourve windows, and walked across to the Esplanade for some morning exercise, before walking to Harvest Press for a smoothie bowl to eat by the pool. TROPICAL BLISS!
