Your guide to Darwin breweries

one mile brewery
Pink Lemonade, Beer & Ginger Beer from One Mile

It’s always beer-o-clock somewhere right? That place is usually in the Territory! Read on for a guide to our collection of Top End and Darwin breweries.

One Mile Brewery
8/111 Coonawarra Road Winnellie

In an inconspicuous shed in Winnellie, you’ll find one of Darwin’s coolest breweries. One Mile wouldn’t be out of place in Melbourne with its industrial graffiti feel – but the brews are very Darwin.

Try a paddle featuring beers with names like the ‘RDO’ and ‘4:21’ (the time government workers clock off in the NT – iconic!) or get a refreshing cider in a slushie – and for the non-beer drinkers, they even have alcoholic pink lemonade!

The Brewery is open Thursday & Friday nights, and all day Saturday, and have a pizza truck on-site during opening hours.

And as of very recently – you can now get their stock takeaway at BWS stores across the Top End!

Beaver Brewery
2/14 Tang Street, Coconut Grove, 0810 Darwin, Australia

Beaver Brewery is a 100% family owned and operated Micro-brewery located in the back blocks of Coconut Grove, and all of their beers are an ode to members of their family and significant events on their lives.

The team at Beaver pride themselves on being a small batch brewery handcrafting beer to suit the NT environment – and this includes not only the classics, but mango beer, passionfruit ale, and ginger beer too.

Previously only open every second Friday night, due to popular demand, Beaver is now open every Friday for knock off beers, complete with a delicious food truck parked out the front for dinner!

Purple Mango Brewery
Marrakai NT

Darwin’s regional brewery – The Purple Mango (yes – they actually have Purple Mango’s!) is a perfect stop for travellers going between Darwin and Kakadu, for people heading to the famous Jumping Crocs, or just for a weekend break from Darwin.

They have the biggest wood-fired pizza oven in the Territory, and in addition to their regular beers, and ginger beer – the Mango beer is definitely something to try! For the non-beer drinkers, the refreshing Mango smoothies are AMAZING!

They’ve recently started to trial camping nights – beers, pizza and sleeping under the stars – the perfect night away!

Six Tanks Brew Pub
4/69 Mitchell Street

Right in the heart of the Darwin CBD, Six Tanks Brew Pub is a micro-brewery, bar, and kitchen that serves regular Aussie beers and craft beers, and also brews and serves their own hand-crafted beers directly from the six onsite beer tanks.

In addition to their craft brews, Six Tanks is a classic Mitchell Street pub – delicious pub food to complement the beer, wines, and cocktails.

COMING SOON – NIGHTCLIFF BREWING CO.

There’s about to be a new kid on the block too – keep your eyes peeled for ‘Nightcliff Brewing Co’ – we can’t wait!

Their beer is launching at Six Tanks at the end of Feb – Watch this space…
